Episode Three: Jealousy

Wednesday Jun 18, 2025

Wednesday Jun 18, 2025

Jealousy is subtle, sneaky—and toxic. In this episode, we dive into how jealousy can quietly take root in our hearts, poisoning our joy, distorting our view of others, and leaving us spiritually and emotionally drained. I open up about my personal struggle with jealousy and how God, in His mercy, began to heal me through Scripture, prayer, and a deeper trust in His provision.
Whether you're silently struggling with comparison or trying to heal from bitterness, this episode invites you into honesty, healing, and freedom through the power of God’s Word.
Questions: 1. God, where is jealousy taking root in my heart?2. What is the root of my jealousy? It is fear, insecurity, pride, or something else?3. What am I truly desiring or longing for when I feel jealous? 4. Am I trusting you to provide everything I need? and if not, show me what that looks like? 5. How can I celebrate the success and blessings of others, Lord, instead of feeling threatened or envious? How do I respond to this today?6. What truth from Your Word can I hold onto when jealousy creeps in?7. What do I need to surrender to You, God, in order to be free from jealousy?8. Lord, Today, What does true peace and contentment in You look like for me, God?

A Reading of Psalm 23 TPT

Psalm 23 can be a powerful tool for meditating on the truth of who God is and how we can trust Him.
Meditative Questions Based on Psalm 23:
Verse 1: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
Question:What does it mean for me to understand that God is my shepherd? Do I recognize and trust in his guidance and provision in my life?
Reflection:Consider the role of a shepherd in caring for their flock. How does this image help you envision God's care for you?
Verse 2: "He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters."
Question:Where am I experiencing God's provision and rest in my life? In what areas do I need to be led towards stillness and refreshment?
Reflection:Think about places where you find peace and renewal. How does this connect to the idea of green pastures and still waters?
Verse 3: "He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake."
Question:What aspects of my soul need restoration? How can I actively seek righteousness in my actions and decisions?
Reflection:Consider the significance of walking in righteousness. How can you apply this principle to your daily life?
Verse 4: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Question:What challenges and difficulties am I currently facing that feel like "the shadow of death"? How can I find comfort in God's presence during these times?
Reflection:Think about the symbolism of the rod and staff. How can you find strength and reassurance in God's guidance?
Verse 5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
Question:How can I recognize and appreciate God's provision and abundance in my life, even in the face of adversity?
Reflection:Reflect on times when you've experienced God's provision and favor. How can you cultivate gratitude and joy in your heart?
Verse 6: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Question:How can I live a life that reflects God's goodness and mercy towards others? How can I fully embrace the promise of dwelling in the house of the Lord?
Reflection:Think about the concept of eternal life. How can you prepare yourself for the future?
Using Psalm 23 for Meditation:
Create a Quiet Space: Find a peaceful environment where you can focus on the psalm without distractions.
Read Slowly: Read each verse slowly and deliberately, allowing the words to sink into your heart.
Reflect on the Images: Pay attention to the imagery and metaphors in the psalm. What do they evoke in your mind?
Personalize the Questions: Ask yourself the questions above and personalize them to your own experiences and circumstances.
Pray and Converse: Engage in a conversation with God, sharing your thoughts and feelings.
Apply the Truth: Consider how the truths in the psalm can be applied to your daily life.
Practice Regularly: Make meditation a regular practice to deepen your relationship with God.
Allow for Silence: After you've read the psalm and considered the questions, take some time to simply sit in silence, allowing God's presence to fill you.

Episode Two: Trust

What do you do when the Lord exposes that you don't really trust Him? It's hard to admit that I realized I don't trust the Lord of the Universe but it's what I have been walking through this past year. Listen and work through these questions with Jesus!1. Holy Spirit, are there hidden things, in my heart, you want to reveal to me? Hidden things that are hindering my trust in you. 2. Is there an area of anxiety in your life right now? How does God want you to respond? 3. Open your hands to release this anxiety. What does He want to replace this anxiety with?

As we enter into our time of meditating on trusting God, this psalm came to my mind. What is God pointing out to you in this psalm when it comes to trust?

In this journey with the Lord, our lives can sometimes feel small. Routines set into place, tasks feel like they are leading to nothing but I want to bring our attention to one interaction that Moses had with the Father that highlights how He is a big God who can use our small things.

Questions asked to reflect on? 1. Father, are there any lies I might be believing about the life I am living right now 2. Take time and thank the Lord for identifying these lies3. Now ask him, what is the truth that I need Him to replace those lies with?4. Like Moses' staff, what is already in my hand? What am I already holding on to and have that I may have not even noticed? 5. How would you have me use this thing(s) to bring glory to you today? 6. Now take a moment and commit to doing that very thing that God revealed.
